The ground combat / land capture part of PVP has been changed. Defending troop calculations have been completely changed, and the amount of possible land capture has been reduced.

Ya, I heard about that. It was most of the reason I changed it.

Well that sucks. Maybe make the defending troops a bit hardier then? Or make other defences a bit more viable. A couple thousand marines vs 30k+ ground troops supportedby artillery and aircraft shouldn't always win.

The whole system is a work in progress.

Currently it's not a flat win lose thing. You gain land based on the ratio of attackers and defenders (whose effective strength is calculated from the various defenses).

I may make it so that there's a minimum level you need to hit to get anything.

I get that. I'd just like to see the defences made more effective. It just feels like my coastal batteries, artillery, bombers and the like are firing mashed potatoes. That and it feels like my defence troops are defending the islands with Styrofoam bats.

I understand. It's on my todo list.

You really have to change the calculations about ground combat. It's very unrealistic and an annoying boon to my back to see 1 land transport consisting of only 200 troops beating back a defending army of 4500 unless of course they are only equipped with water guns, torpedo and bomber planes made out of paper and minefields filled with honey and milk -_-
